Nature Of Work:

Interior designers produce designs for interior spaces in residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, educational and government disciplines.  Designers consult with clients to determine needs; determine and specify furniture requirements; design custom and built-in interior elements; and estimate costs and materials required; develop finish and detailed space plans; and develop plans suitable for construction.

To work in this field, a good sense of creativity and imagination are beneficial in interior space planning.  You should have an understanding of artistic principles and be able to present that plan visually so that it can be communicated to the client.  Self-discipline in meeting deadlines and a good business sense are also very important.
